At Pearl Global Ministries, we believe that building a strong future begins with remembering the values that have shaped us. This week, Jane Nakalema had the privilege of serving as a Protocol Officer during a special visit with the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Buganda, where he met with respected elders in Nkenge Village.
As part of her responsibilities, Jane frequently works alongside the Prime Minister during important community events, helping coordinate meetings and ensuring that each occasion runs smoothly. It is a role of service that also provides opportunities to witness meaningful conversations that strengthen communities.
During this gathering, the Prime Minister shared a timely and important message: our cultural heritage is a treasure that must not be lost. He encouraged parents, grandparents, and community leaders to intentionally teach the next generation the customs, values, language, and traditions that have been passed down through the centuries.
In a world that is changing rapidly, many young people are growing up disconnected from the rich heritage of their families and communities. The Prime Minister reminded those gathered that preserving culture is about more than remembering the past—it is about giving young people a strong foundation upon which to build their future.
For Pearl Global Ministries, this message resonates deeply.
Our ministry is committed not only to meeting physical needs through education, agriculture, and community development, but also to nurturing the whole person. We believe that healthy communities are built when faith, family, education, and cultural identity work together.
Watching village elders gather with community leaders served as a powerful reminder that wisdom is meant to be shared. The experiences of one generation become the inheritance of the next when people intentionally invest in relationships, tell their stories, and model lives of integrity.
Jane considers it a privilege to serve in these settings, representing Pearl Global Ministries while supporting efforts that strengthen families and communities throughout Uganda.
