This week marked the official beginning of our second school term here in Uganda.
On Monday, children began returning to their classrooms with hope, anticipation, and dreams for their future. At Pearl Global Ministries, we are believing God for every child to be able to continue their education and return safely to school.
For some students, however, the journey into this new term is not easy.
Several families struggled financially during the previous term, and some children now need special attention and support in order to continue their education. School fees, supplies, transportation, uniforms, and daily necessities can quickly become overwhelming for vulnerable families already facing hardship.
At the same time, our region is facing additional uncertainty due to a recent outbreak of Ebola in Congo and nearby areas. The effects of this outbreak have already begun creating challenges at the start of the school term, bringing fear, economic strain, and instability to many communities.
Yet even in difficult seasons, we continue to see courage, resilience, and faith.
Education remains one of the greatest gifts we can offer a child. It provides hope beyond poverty, stability in uncertain times, and the opportunity to build a different future. Many of these students are bright, determined, and eager to learn — they simply need someone willing to stand beside them.
This is why sponsorship matters so deeply.
When you sponsor a student, you are doing more than paying school fees. You are helping a child remain in school, continue learning, receive encouragement, and believe that their life has value and purpose. Your support becomes part of their story of hope.
As this new term begins, we ask you to pray with us:
- Pray for protection and health for the children, families, teachers, and communities affected by the Ebola outbreak.
- Pray that every student will be able to return to school and continue their education.
- Pray for provision for families facing financial hardship.
- Pray for wisdom, strength, and endurance for those serving and caring for these children daily.
