As we navigate the dynamic landscape of youth empowerment across Africa, I am pleased to share an update on a recent development that aligns closely with our mission to foster leadership and entrepreneurial skills among young people. Amidst our ongoing fieldwork—where our team has been actively engaged in community gardening initiatives, even as heavy rains have intensified our efforts—we received an invitation to participate in a prestigious event focused on youth development.
The invitation pertains to the International Youth Leadership Conference (IYLC5), accompanied by the Youth in Africa Awards and the Youth in Africa Expo. Scheduled for November 22nd to 23rd, 2025, this gathering will take place at the National Assembly of the Union of Comoros in Moroni. The event promises to convene over 400 delegates from more than 20 countries, featuring at least 10 distinguished speakers and a unified agenda centered on equipping young leaders with essential tools for success.

Convened by Ambassador Sarah Munyi, President of Youth in Africa, the conference emphasizes themes of leadership training and entrepreneurship, directly resonating with our organization’s priorities. The program runs daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, offering a platform for meaningful dialogue, networking, and recognition of outstanding youth contributions through the awards segment. For international delegates, a conference fee of USD 50 applies, with further details available via the organization’s website at www.youthinafrica.org or through their contact lines (+254 723 557 048 or +269 386 7290).
In light of this opportunity, our team will soon convene to deliberate on the most effective means of participation, ensuring that our involvement maximizes impact for the youth we serve. This invitation not only validates our ongoing work but also opens avenues for collaboration with like-minded stakeholders across the continent.
We look forward to providing further updates as plans progress.
